4 Facebook Tools Your Business Should Be Using

Written by Lauren Austin

Facebook is a social networking website that allows registered users to create profiles, and upload photos and videos – all while keeping in touch with family, friends, and colleagues. Facebook is great for helping your business grow because it allows for you to reach and connect with Facebook’s one billion online users. If you’re interested in mastering Facebook, these are the four tools you will need to start using and learning that will help your business grow.

Target Your Audience With Audience Insights

Audience Insights allows for you to learn about your target audience so you can create more relevant content for them.  You will be able to see their demographic information, which includes - relationship status, age, gender, and job roles. You’re also able to look at your target audience’s lifestyle and any information that interests them. Having all of this information about your target audience will allow for you to create interesting content, promotions, and giveaways that cater specifically to them.

Hashtags (# symbol)

Originally associated with platforms like Twitter and Instagram, Facebook has adopted the Hashtag because it allows for you to join larger conversations and to connect with as many people as you want. On Facebook, this tool creates a clickable link that will add anything you post to related topics. For example, using the Hashtag, #socialmedia, will post your content with others that used the same Hashtag, and those interested in anything social media related. As a result, if someone decides to search “#socialmedia” your content will be displayed for them to view.

Scheduled Posts

It’s often very difficult to maintain a steady stream of content while managing all questions and comments posted, and developing new promotions and ideas for future content. Thankfully, Facebook allows for you to schedule posts to appear at a later time. If you want content to be posted three times per day, seven days per week, and at a specific time each day, this is the perfect tool for you. All you have to do is create your post, click the clock icon on the bottom left of the sharing tool, and add a future time and date for the post to be published.

Boosted Posts

We highly recommend this tool for small businesses that want to promote their content but don’t have a large budget for digital marketing or advertising. If you choose to boost your content, it will be labeled “sponsored” and will appear in your audience’s newsfeed for a longer period of time. You can also target your audience which allows for you to control your budget, and only people you want will see your posts.

We hope we were able to give you a better understanding of Facebook and the great tools that they have to offer. Facebook has worked hard to make their network, not just a social network, but also a network that caters to businesses of all sizes.
